Storefront security comes in many guises, but they don’t necessarily need to be, or should be, used alone.
Let me explain.
CCTV camera set ups will act somewhat as a deterrent, if , and it’s a big if, the would be crooks see them. But even then, wearing a mask, balaclava etc generally defeats the possibility of recognition. It does however provide evidence for insurance claims, and police reports.
There is also the all too real issue of broken or poorly aimed cameras , unplugged DVRs , and the list goes on.
Motion sensors serve to start the police response action, but again, can’t stop anyone physically.
Now, add physical security to the storefront in terms of scissor gates, roll down shutters, or mall style tracked curtains, and you have a layer that can at minimum slow them down while the police are enroute.
Crooks work hard to be crooked….you need to stay ahead of that curve…build your security in layers.
